What is PiFi and PiFiZone?
PiFi is a wireless adapter used to provide internet access to wireless devices, such as, computers, mobile telephones, and tablets, through mobile telecommunications networks or wireless communication networks.
The PiFi device is a compact wireless router produced and sold by Ecocarrier that acts as a mobile WiFi Hotspot or WiFi Hotzone called PiFiZone. PiFi stands for “Personal WiFi”. The PiFi device can be connected using a SIM card to provide internet access for up to 10 WiFi enabled devices. The unit itself is smaller than an iPhone. The first PiFi device was introduced in Canada in May 2012 by Ecocarrier.
When used in conjuction with PiFiSIM while travelling abroad, users typically save up to 90% on their roaming charges in 100+ countries as compared to what their carrier would charge them.
